Hello guitar world in K/W region!

It is with great pleasure that I am introducing the first year for The K/W Guitar Society!  As artistic director I am looking forward to exploring the richness and compelling beauty of guitar in this region.

The mission of The K/W Guitar Society is an educational framework to promote awareness of furthering your levels of guitar playing, performing, listening and exposure to all types of genres in the guitar world.
This will be done through master classes, recitals, seminars, and interviews.  Please check out our blog kwguitarsociety.com where information will be posted on upcoming concerts and events,  as well as educational tidbits from professional educators.  It is free and when you sign up, you will stay informed through email.

We will be bringing the finest classical guitarists from around the world for concerts and master classes, starting with our subscription series with The K/W Music Chamber Society.  Stay tuned to our blog for further information!
Our very first electric guitar master class will feature the upmost professional blues guitarist Shawn Kellerman.  The date is yet to be announced, but he will be sharing the secrets of his tone, his rig and guitars.  Furthermore you will be able to play for him and he will talk about pointers to make you a better musician.  So, calling all inspiring guitarists of all ages to take advantage of Shawn’s first hand experience!  Please sign up on our blog.

Stephen Zurakowsky Classical Guitarist

Stephen Zurakowsky(www.anumi.ca) is a graduate from The University of Toronto. He has studied with Norbert Kraft, Eli Kasner, David Russell, Stepan Rak and Phil Nimmons. Recently he has been awarded an International CD Distribution grant from The SOCAN Foundation, which will oversee the airplay of "Four Trees In Winter" in 135 radio markets worldwide. Stephen has enjoyed substantial support from the Ukrainian arts community across Canada, having been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and radio programs. He performs chamber concerts as a soloist and has written works for electric classical guitar and choir. A Zurakowsky concert encompasses a sense of deep passion, as you feel invited to experience his love for composing and how his Ukrainian heritage has an influence on his creativity. His music has been featured on Canada's CBC and was reviewed in Toronto's The Wholenote Magazine as a favourable pick amongst classical independents.
